Mari Macintosh Boyes
Mari, a native of Oban, Scotland, began her career in the hospitality industry by working at a golf resort hotel in the town of Nairn, located on the Moray Firth in the Scottish Highlands. In 1983, Mari immigrated to the U.S., joining the Hyatt Corporation’s hospitality department in New Orleans. She next worked at Tulane University’s School of Nursing, coordinating Continuing Education seminars.
In 1992, Mari relocated to Atlanta, where she accepted a position as Director of Sales for an intermodal motor carrier serving the Gulf Coast and South Atlantic Ports. In 2015, Mari and her husband, David, co-founded Tern Services Inc. Mari has led our company with her vision, “the power of one,” which speaks to each employee’s important role in our successes. It’s one spotter making one move safely and timely, which is how our success is built move after move after move. Mari is proud to be a dual citizen of both the United States and Great Britain. She enjoys traveling and participating in Scottish festivals held throughout the U.S.
David Boyes
David brings over 45 years of transportation and supply chain experience to Tern Services, beginning his career in 1972 with Sealand, the pioneer of ocean container shipping. David worked in the Southern Operating Division’s Intermodal Equipment and Warehousing management at New Orleans, LA and Mobile, AL before becoming Senior Account Executive, Pacific and Asian Sales for Connecticut, upstate New York and Western Massachusetts. In 1985, David was co-founded Seamar Intermodal Trucking & Warehousing with terminals and warehouses at Gulf Coast ports. Seamar provided off-site warehousing and supply chain management, serving petrochemical manufacturers in southeast Louisiana. In 2005, David and his wife, Mari, co-founded Euromex of GA, Inc to serve intermodal importers and exporters requiring tri-axle chassis to transport overweight containers between Gulf Coast and South Atlantic ports, and locations throughout the Southeast. From these operations grew a demand to provide spotting services to its customer base. In 2015, David worked with his partners to spin off the spotting functions of Euromex of GA, Inc into a separate and stand-alone entity, Tern Services. In 2017, the customer bases of Euromex of GA were sold so that David could devote his full energies into the growth of Tern Services.
